ODILO consolidates its leadership in the edtech sector with the arrival of Jorge Alonso as CPTO

Madrid, September 10, 2025.- ODILO, a Spanish edtech company that allows any organization to create its own learning ecosystem, has appointed Jorge Alonso as Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO). With 20 years of experience in the technology and education sectors, this appointment marks a significant milestone for the company as it seeks to advance in product development, reinforcing its leadership in the global edtech market.

Alonso has worked for leading companies in the technology and telecommunications sectors. Until now, he held the position of CPTO at Spotahome, where he was also responsible for the Growth area and was part of the executive team. Previously, he served as VP of Product, Engineering, and Growth, as well as Head of Engineering at this organization.

Additionally, he has served as a Software Development Manager at Amazon, where he managed the resolution of complex problems using Big Data and Machine Learning solutions. He also plays a key role in the internationalization of ‘Prime Wardrobe’, one of the multinational’s flagship programs in recent times.

As Software Development Manager at Starzplay, the premium streaming platform of the American network Starz, he led the development of the multi-platform video-on-demand service for 17 countries in the Middle East and North Africa. He was also the director of the firm’s office in Madrid.

In addition, in 2009, he co-founded Eszena Danza, one of the largest dance studios in Spain, where he has served as CEO and led the business strategy, finance, marketing, and software efforts since then.

With a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and an MBA from ISEAD Business School, where he also studied E-Commerce and Marketing, Jorge Alonso combines his professional career with entrepreneurship.
